Knowledge and things, passed hand to hand

TV & Movies

Our media collection isn’t hosted here. It lives in a private library, accessible only to people who’ve been invited.

  1. Create a free Plex account
Go to plex.tv and sign up. It’s free. No payment needed. You’ll use it to access a shared media collection.
  2. Install the Plex app
Download the app on your phone, computer, or streaming device (Roku, Fire Stick, etc.). Log in with your new account.
  3. Request access
Send a message to the person who gave you the link to this website. Say:
“I’m ready to connect. Can you add me to the library?”
They’ll grant you access. No public links. Just a direct invite.

This is how we keep it private and secure. Some things work better when they’re not public.

Books

Sometimes, the best way to read is on your own device, without ads or tracking.

Calibre is a free, open-source e-book library manager. It works on macOS, Windows, and Linux. You can use it to organize, convert, and read books — all without sharing your reading habits.

Why Calibre?

How to Install

  1. Go to the official site
Visit calibre-ebook.com — this is the only safe source.
  2. Download for your system
Click “Download” and choose the version for your computer.
  3. Install the app
Open the downloaded file and follow the steps. It’s like installing any other program.
  4. Launch Calibre
When it opens, you’ll see your library — empty for now, but ready.

Once you have Calibre installed, email the person who gave you this link and say:
“I’ve got Calibre. Can you add me to the library?”

They’ll reply with instructions to connect — no public links, no passwords. Just trust.

This is how we share books without handing your reading list over to profit-driven platforms.

Stuff

Sometimes, it’s not ideas we need — it’s a working lamp, a sleeping bag, a soldering iron, or a borrowed tool.

The community maintains a private, secure spreadsheet cataloging physical objects available to anyone who needs them. Nothing for sale. No ads. Just neighbors helping neighbors — without platforms taking a cut.

If you’d like access to the link, email the person who gave you this website and ask:
“Can you share the Stuff sheet?”

No public link. No tracking. Just trust, passed hand to hand.
